Day 1   Windhoek / Mariental
On our first day of our Namibia tour, you will be collected from Hosea Kutako International Airport, Windhoek. Flight arrivals at about 2.00 pm. We start our journey heading south on the main route, through the Khomas region, and into the Hardap region, travelling through the thin strip of Kalahari Desert that protrudes onto the eastern side of Namibia. We pass through small towns along the way, including Rehoboth, the traditional home of the Baster people, and Kalkrand, to Mariental. Overnight in the Mariental area (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast).

Day 2   Mariental / Ais Ais
We depart to the Hot Springs resort Ai-Ais in the Fish River Canyon. We travel into the Karas region, enjoying the magnificent views of the mountains. At Ai-Ais awaits the natural warm water of the indoor swimming pool. Overnight at NWR Ai-Ais (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast).

Day 3   Ais-Ais / Luderitz
The Fish River Canyon in Namibia is (allegedly) the 2nd largest canyon in the world, after the Grand Canyon. The immensity of this magnificent landscape is truly breathtaking. The towering rock faces and deep ravines were formed by water erosion, plus the collapse of the valley due to movements in the earth’s crust over 500 million years ago. Today the canyon measures 160km long, up to 27km wide, and almost 550m at its deepest. We then proceed to our next destination, the beautiful town of Lüderitz for 2 nights, staying at the authentic Kratz Platz Guest house. (Dinner, Bed and breakfast).

Day 4   Luderitz
We visit Kolmankop (Kolmansküppe) today, on a special guided tour. The town was built in the 1920s during its diamond rush and was abandoned when bigger and better diamonds were found further along the coast. The area is still abandoned, and the desert has encroached over the entire town, giving an eerie feeling and real meaning to the word "ghost". After visiting Kolmansküppe, we drive into the beautiful town of Lüderitz. Whilst visiting Lüderitz, we have some free time for the opportunity to visit some of the excellent local cafes. During the middle of the day, we explore Lüderitz town with its traditional German architecture, and later we take a drive out to Diaz Point. On the way there, we hope to see a few flamingos. We visit Diaz Cross, a stone replica of the original, erected by the Portuguese mariner Bartholomew Diaz. Overnight in Luderitz (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast).

Day 5   Luderitz / Sesriem
Turning north, we head deep into ancient southern Namib, travelling on small gravel roads and passing some tiny rural communities along the way. We enter the Hardap Region of Namibia again. The scenery is harsh and sometimes forbidding. The process of erosion in these areas is well advanced and we pass time-rounded "koppies", arid terrain, and outcrops of tortured rock. Traversing this bleak yet beautiful landscape, the terrain begins to change, and we cross some open grass savannah and farmlands, before the terrain begins to give way to the immense red sand dunes of the Namib Desert. We aim to arrive at our guest farm during the late afternoon and watch the colours glow and change on distant mountains. Overnight in the Sesriem area (Dinner, bed & breakfast).

Day 6   Sesriem / Sossusvlei
A pre-dawn start is essential this morning, as we want to catch the soft light of the sunrise on the desert. After passing through Sesriem, the gateway to the dunes, and driving into the heart of the dune field, we later reach Sossusvlei with 4×4 vehicles. In the cool of the morning, the soft sunlight begins to play over the dunes, creating a sharp light and shadow contrast across the whole desert. It is here that you will visit the well-known Dead Valley. Ancient mineral pans, stunted camel thorn trees, and the chance of seeing a gemsbok or maybe an ostrich make the photo opportunities perfect. We spend the morning in and around Sossusvlei, also visiting dune 45. Overnight at Weltevrede Guest Farm. (Dinner, Bed & breakfast).

Day 7   Sossusvlei / Walvisbay
After breakfast, we depart to Solitaire, for some famous apple pie. We then proceed through the peculiar mountains of the Khomas region, into the arid desert of the Erongo region, and on to Swakopmund / Walvisbaai, Namibia. We stay in Walvisbaai area for two nights at Lagoon Chalets, within walking distance of the famous Flamingo lagoon. (Dinner, Bed & breakfast)

Day 8   Walvisbay / Swakopmund
Today you can enjoy a day of leisure. Swakopmund and Walvisbay area is renowned as the adventure region of Namibia. There are various optional activities which can be enjoyed, and these popular excursions need to be booked well in advance. These include aeroplane and microlight flights over the desert, scenic drives, fishing trips (both from the beach or in a boat), four-wheel motorcycle (quad bike) trips into the desert and over the sand dunes around Swakopmund, camel rides, sand boarding trips (also in the dunes), skydiving, surfing, bird-watching and many other activities. (N.B. All extra activities and excursions in Swakopmund/Walvisbay are subject to availability and are made at the guests’ own risk and expense). Alternatively, we will visit the town of Swakopmund which can be explored on foot, with interesting buildings, typical German colonial architecture and history, and shopping opportunities. Overnight in Walvisbaai / Swakopmund area (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

Day 9 & 10   Swakopmund / Vingerklip Area
Today we travel through the Damara region, to Vingerklip. We will encounter some Himba and Herero people along the way. Within this area, you have an optional extra opportunity of visiting the Vingerklip and a Himba Village – one of the traditionally functioning Himba communities, outside the far northern region of Namibia. These tribes-people have migrated here, lifestyle and customs intact, and are following their traditional way of life in their village. The exact location of the site varies as the Himba occasionally roam to a new location. On this optional excursion, you have the opportunity to learn more about their culture. Overnight 2 nights in the Vingerklip area (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast).

Day 11   Vingerklip Area / Etosha
As we travel to Etosha today, we will visit the lovely small town of Outjo. Get a few refreshments that we may need for Etosha. We will enter the park in the south and commence our game drive to our overnight camp in Etosha, Namibia. Overnight in Etosha National Park at Halali camp (Dinner, Bed & breakfast).

Day 12   Etosha National Park
We leave early, to enjoy the cool morning air, as we game drive our way through the park. Along the way, we visit several waterholes and are afforded splendid views of the massive Etosha Pan. The game viewing is usually excellent, and we have the chance to tick off a few species. Overnight in Etosha National Park (Dinner, Bed & breakfast).

Day 13   Etosha / Waterberg
After breakfast we head east, driving through the Park, later to enjoy the beautiful Waterberg Mountains, a magnificent landmark in the surrounding plains environment of the Otjozondjupa region in northern Namibia. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon, and maybe climb the mountain to overlook the vast area below. Overnight in the beautiful area of Waterberg NWR (Dinner, Bed & breakfast).

Day 14   Waterberg / Windhoek
After a leisurely breakfast, we depart the mountains for Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia. We pass the town Okahandja and arrive at Windhoek where we will do an orientation tour of Windhoek in the afternoon. Overnight in Windhoek (Dinner, bed & breakfast).

Day 15
Today is the last day of our Namibia tour, and we depart the hotel after breakfast for the airport, to bid you farewell, in time for your flight back to South Africa.
