Day 1:     8 day Israel tour: Johannesburg — Tel Aviv

We start our Pilgrimage at 16h00 at the EL-AL Terminal, at O.R.Tambo International Airport JNB. Here we meet our new friends, and check our luggage in, before departing for Tel-Aviv at 20H00.

Day 2:     Ceasarea, Mt Carmel, Nazareth, Cana, Tiberias

We arrive at Tel-Aviv at 05H50, where we are met by our agent, and after loading our luggage into the bus, we start our Pilgrimage. Our first stop is Ceasarea. We then drive through the “Jisreel Valley” and visit Mount Carmel. The next stop is Nazareth, the town where Jesus grew up. Here we visit the Church of Annunciation. Our last stop for the day is Cana. We visit the “Wedding Church” where Jesus turned the water into wine. Later we travel to our hotel in Tiberias next to Galilee.

Day 3:     Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha, Capernaum, Sea of Galilee, Ein Gev, Yardenit

“Mount of Beatitudes” is our first stop today. We then visit the church of “St peter’s Primary” which is built over the”Mensa Chrisi” rock at “Tabgha”. Next, we stop at “Capernaum the Town of JESUS”. Here Jesus started His ministry. We can eat “St Peter’s fish” for lunch on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. (not included in the price). After lunch, we take a drive to “Ein Gev” for a “Boat trip on the Sea of Galilee”. Our last stop for the day is at the baptismal site of “Yardenit” at the “Jordan River”.

Day 4:     Masada, Dead Sea, Qumran, Jericho

This morning we drive to “Masada” the Rock Fortress. Here we ascend to the top by cable car. What a beautiful view of the “Dead Sea” from the top. From here we stop at “Qumran” where the “Dead Sea Scrolls” was found. After shopping and lunch, we move down to the “Dead Sea” where we spent time at “Nature’s Biggest Health Spa”. Be a child again and play in the mud. Our last stop for the day is at “Jericho”. Wet your feet in “Elijah’s Fountain” and see the “Mount of Temptation”. Tonight we sleep in Bethlehem.

Day 5:     Jerusalem, Bethlehem

Today we start on top of “Mount of Olives”. From here we have a panoramic view of the “Old City” across the “Kidron Valley” and we see the “Eastern Gate”. We move down to “Dominus Flevit” with its “Teardrop Church”. Here we take pictures with the “Eastern Gate” in the background. We walk down the mountain to the “Garden of Gethsemane” with the “Church of all Nations” and pray at the “Rock of Agony”. From here the bus takes us to “St Peter in Gallicantu” the place of the Cock Crow. We travel to Bethlehem where we have lunch. After lunch, we visit “The Church of Nativity” and the “Shepherd’s Fields”. Tonight we sleep in Jerusalem.

Day 6:     Jerusalem, Garden tomb

This morning we start our daily tour at the “Golden Gate and Lions Gate” of the Old City. First, we visit “the Bath of Bethesda”. We view the corners of the South Pool and the group sings a song in the “Church of St Anne”, From here we start the “Via Dolorosa” and stop at the first station. We visit the “Church of Flagellation” with its beautiful “Stained Glass Windows” and “Golden Crown” in the dome. “Gabbatha” place of the pavement is next. Then we visit “Lithostrotos”, and then we move through the “Damascus Gate” to “Golgotha” and the “garden Tomb”. This afternoon is free for shopping in the “Old City”.

Day 7:     Jerusalem — Johannesburg

We gather at Zion’s gate and visit the “Upper Room” and “King David’s Grave”. We enter the Old City through the “Zion’s Gate” and stop in the “Cardo”. A visit to the “Golden Menorah” is on our way down to the “Western Wall”. The bus takes us from here to “Ein Karem”, the birthplace of John the Baptist, and the “Yad Vashem” museum. Here we will have lunch. Our last stop for the tour is at the “Soreq Caves”. We are taken to the airport for our flight back to South Africa at “00H30.

Day 8:     Johannesburg
